Giving Options

While tuition and annual fundraisers provide most of the day-to-day expenses of school operations, we rely heavily on the generosity of our donors for all capital improvements, special projects, and tuition assistance programs.  Gifts of any size are always welcome and appreciated.  Undesignated gifts are applied wherever funds are most needed.  However, donors also have the option of designating funds toward a specific purpose.

According to the nonprofit website http://www.adoptaclassroom.org/, "Teachers spend an average of $1,200 per year of their own money on classroom supplies."  Couple this with the fact that our teachers already receive lower salaries than they would likely earn in a public school setting, it is our strong desire to provide all the tools they need to teach effectively and make learning fun for their students.  We have compiled a Classroom Wish List which details specific items teachers have requested for their classroom that are not currently covered by our limited school budget.  Interested donors have the option to purchase the items individually, or make a tax-deductible donation designated toward a specific item on the list.

Christian Life School has a long-term Master Plan for upgrading and expanding campus facilities to meet the ever-changing demands of a growing student body.  Members of the school's leadership teams are continually strategizing to ensure that the school provides a high quality environment for academic and spiritual growth.  In order to provide funding for future development and ongoing facility upgrades, we have established the Life Development Fund.  All donations designated for this Fund will be set aside specifically for capital improvements.

Despite our best efforts to keep tuition costs affordable, we have a number of students each year who simply cannot afford to pay full tuition.  A Scholarship Fund has been established to provide tuition assistance for families in need.  Contributions to this fund will be used specifically to assist students who would otherwise be unable to afford Christian schooling.  To qualify for a scholarship, families must prove financial need through submission of a financial assistance application.  Scholarships are awarded as funds designated for this purpose become available.

Planned giving and major gifts are other options that allow our supporters to leave a legacy of giving by donating toward the facilities and programs of tomorrow.  While increasing the financial stability of the school, planned gifts may also provide significant tax advantages to the donor.  Major gifts may include estate gifts, income-producing gifts, or gifts of real property.

Sometimes donors are able to increase the impact of their gifts through employer matching programs.  Many companies now match the donations of their employees to non-profit organizations, dollar-for-dollar.  If you are considering making a donation, you might wish to contact your personnel office to see whether your company offers a matching program.

An online giving option is now available for our donors to contribute safely and securely through our website.  Donations may also be mailed or delivered in person to Christian Life School, 6300 212th Street W., Farmington, MN 55024.
